Our Junior Ladies made the long journey to Ovens yesterday afternoon to play Eire Óg in their second game of this year's Div 2 County League campaign.
Having suffered defeat in their opening League fixture away to Bishopstown the girls in blue were looking to get some points on the board but with Eire Óg having secured last year's Senior County Championship title this was always going to be a tough ask.
The opening half of this game produced some lovely play from both teams but Eire Óg proved more accurate in front of the posts and they went in at half time with a healthy lead. The second half proved to be just as competitive with both teams giving it their all but Eire Óg's experience from last year's Senior Championship along with their inter County players proved to be too strong for Bantry on the day and they ran out comfortable winners despite a tremendous effort from each and every one of the girls in Blue.
Next up for this group is a home fixture against Douglas.
Time and date tbc.
